Bio
I'm a researcher, policy analyst, and human rights practitioner working at the intersection of migration, peace and conflict resolution, and diaspora identity. I hold an M.A. in International Relations and a B.A. in Political Science from American University.
I currently serve as a Project Coordinator at the Stimson Center, where I support the T20 U.S. team in designing and convening the T20 Summit, its pre-summit dialogue during UNGA high-level week, and related global hybrid events, while facilitating relationships with G20 Sherpas, engagement groups, think tanks, and international organizations, and producing the talking points, briefings, and communications that keep T20 U.S. partners, including the Brookings Institution and the Quincy Institute, coordinated throughout. I was the Director of Women, Peace and Security (WPS) at American University, where I built a community of students across the DMV committed to advancing the WPS agenda.
My research spans continents and methodologies. Most recently, I conducted independent field research in Guyana with Indo-Guyanese, Afro-Guyanese, and Indigenous communities, exploring how cultural practices are preserved across generations in the face of displacement. I contributed to the Roti Collective Lab, using ethnography and ArcGIS to trace how culinary traditions carry migration stories, and to the Mass Atrocity Research Initiative (MARI), where I studied early warning indicators and social resilience.
Before graduate school, I spent nearly three years as an Immigration Analyst at VisaNation Law Group, reviewing family and employment-based petitions and helping design client-facing tools to improve access to legal services. My earlier experience includes working at the National Immigrant Women's Advocacy Project, the Suffolk County DA's Office, and the U.S. House of Representatives.

Interviewed Indo-Guyanese, Afro-Guyanese, and Indigenous communities in Georgetown and Berbice on how cultural practices are preserved and how families cope with displacement across generations. Produced qualitative analysis of social resilience and identity preservation.
Roti Collective Lab (Prof. Durrani)

Ethnographic research on roti-making as a thread connecting migration experiences across the diaspora. Uses ArcGIS to visually document and share narratives of culinary heritage.

Research on early warning indicators, policy engagement, and social resilience efforts. Includes analysis of how mass atrocity and genocide are taught in U.S. secondary education curricula.

- ▸Support the T20 U.S. team in designing, organizing, and convening the T20 Summit (Nov 18–19, NYC), the pre-summit dialogue during UNGA, and global hybrid events with major T20/G20 stakeholders.
- ▸Facilitate relationships with T20 stakeholders, including G20 Sherpas and engagement groups, across think tanks, governments, academic institutions, and international organizations supporting G20 priority areas.
- ▸Prepare talking points, briefing materials, commentaries, and Summit/pre-summit communications; coordinate partner meetings, support newsletter content development, and provide cross-organizational support to T20 U.S. partners, including the Brookings Institution and the Quincy Institute.
- ▸Worked with partners at NOVA University in Lisbon on event space logistics, hybrid functionality, online streaming, social media, and visa coordination at the Lisbon consulate for attendees.
- ▸Backstopped registration for institutions and members, sorted submissions, and built the conference program and run of show.
- ▸Coordinated logistics for high-level executives attending the conference, including their placements in the program and plenary sessions.
- ▸Conducted internal compliance reviews to ensure adherence to USCIS regulations, developing and maintaining systematic checklists to track documentation accuracy across active cases in-house.
- ▸Completed UI/UX testing on custom family immigration software to identify and implement improvements.
- ▸Leveraged CRM/CMS platforms to automate operational workflows and analyze case data, producing reports that directly informed the CEO's decision-making.
- ▸Reviewed family- and employment-based petitions, including I-130, I-485, I-765, I-864, and I-129 forms.
- ▸Researched migration, climate financing, and peacekeeping while co-authoring the GGIR'25 and FIC'25 reports.
- ▸Oversaw grant funding and travel support, and coordinated programs and logistics with partners at the Savannah Centre for the ANUMDI and 38th ACUNS Annual Meeting in Nairobi, Kenya.
- ▸Created toolkits explaining the application process for U-visa, T-visa, VAWA, Asylum, and H-1B cases, plus training materials on DV/SA to support immigrant survivors.
- ▸Logged grant requests and analyzed survivor intake procedures to identify gaps, then redesigned the intake workflow to better connect clients to legal resources.
- ▸Coordinated monthly roundtable sessions with public officials across the DMV area on practical, on-the-ground tips for assisting immigrant survivors.
